My Greatest Blessings

If you haven’t read my last post, Three Little Blessings, then you probably want to know what the heck this is all about. Well, long story short this is mostly to help me. While trying to find ways of coping with my depression, I found in many different places the idea to write down a few things you are grateful for every day. So that brings me to this project. I am challenging myself to blog about three things every day that I am thankful for, no matter how small they are. These first three though are not small by any means. So, here goes.

Three Little (Big) Blessings:

My 12 year old. She is truly an amazing child. She’s very bright, always an A student (maybe sometimes a B). She’s talented and funny. And she is truly one of the most compassionate children I know, she is kind to everyone and always tries to see the good in other people. What she doesn’t know is just how special she really is. That girl literally saved my life. Without getting into to much detail (that’s a story for another time maybe) I was having a very difficult time with my depression before her. I was actually suicidal. Then I found out I was pregnant. I knew that no matter how bad I was, there was no way I could do anything to hurt my baby. SHE literally SAVED MY LIFE. And I’m thankful every single day for her.

Oh, my Sunshine. This one is my firecracker. She keeps me on my toes, and she challenges me every day. She is now 9 years old and just started 4th grade. When she was little, my grandma used to sing her “you are my sunshine” and tell her that her smile was so beautiful it could light up her world even brighter than the sun. She is my creative one. Always drawing and coloring. Doing weird experiments with random stuff she finds. Sunshine has ADHD and Aspergers. She can sometimes be very hard to manage. Shes stubborn, she has a temper, and it doesn’t take that much for it to make its self known. She is also very very smart. She is a math whiz, which is crazy to me, I suck at math! But she is also the most loving person I have ever met. She is an amazing big sister, and an amazing friend and she has an amazingly huge heart. She is the kind of person I have always hoped my kids would be.

Little Dude:

Little Dude

Little Dude, sometimes also known as The Destroyer. He is such an amazing little man. After 2 girls, I was in for some big surprises with this one. Everyone always says how boys are so different from girls, but i never believed them until him. For anyone who is curious, boys are SO different than girls! But they are also truly amazing in their own way. He has the craziest sense of humor I’ve ever seen in a 2-year-old. He makes me laugh every single day with his craziness.

Being a mom is the most spectacular thing that has ever happened to me.

No, it isn’t always easy. Sometimes its down right impossible. But at the end of the day hearing my kids say “I love you mom” is the greatest sound in the world. I would not change a single thing about my life. No matter how many hard times I had to go through to get to where I am today, it was all worth it to have these three in my life. They truly are my three greatest blessings.
